On Friday morning, 3 to 8 centimeters of snow fell per hour in many regions, including the southwestern provinces of Jeolla, the central provinces of Chungcheong, Incheon, Gyeonggi Province, and the southern Jeju Island, according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA).

The agency reported accumulations of 15.9 cm in Jinan of North Jeolla Province, 14.5 cm in Jeonju, 10 cm in Incheon, 9.4 cm in Geochang of South Gyeongsang Province and 8.2 cm in Seocheon of South Chungcheong Province between 1 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday. Seoul received 5.4 cm during the same time.

It forecast that 1 to 3 cm of snow will continue to fall per hour in the Jeolla provinces until Saturday and in Jeju until Sunday. In the Seoul metropolitan area, the snow will stop during Friday morning, it added.

The KMA cautioned about driving or walking on slippery roads, as morning temperatures in Seoul and most other regions will remain below minus 10 C throughout the weekend.
