SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Korea Bizwire) – In a noteworthy development announced Thursday by Seoul’s unification ministry, responsible for inter-Korean affairs, South Korea is set to launch its first annual global survey this year to assess awareness regarding the potential unification with North Korea.

The survey, spanning various countries including the United States, Japan, Germany, and Vietnam, is poised to shape a comprehensive understanding of international perspectives on the matter, as indicated by the ministry.

“We aim to refine our public diplomacy policy on unification and formulate a systematic strategy to foster a more favorable global environment for the prospect of unification based on the survey findings,” stated the ministry, without disclosing specific survey details.

This initiative unfolds against the backdrop of recent threats from North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who warned of dire consequences, including the annihilation of South Korea, in response to any attempts by Seoul to employ force against North Korea, labeling South Korea as his country’s “principal enemy.”
