SEOUL, Nov. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea is set to hold its first online archery tournament.
The Korea Archery Association (KAA) announced Tuesday that the 31st National Elementary School Archery Tournament scheduled for Wednesday to Friday will be held online to protect student athletes from the coronavirus.
Athletes will demonstrate their skills at each of the team’s archery ranges under the supervision of the organizing committee via video conference system.
All results will be sent directly to the organizing committee via the KAA’s real-time recording system.
Each archery range will be supervised by official referees and organizing staff for fair play.
The online archery competition was inspired by the old postal archery competition, when archers sent their records to the World Archery Federation (WA) by postal mail due to a lack of transportation.
