South Korean Corporate Giants Unite to Propel Busan’s Bid for 2030 World Expo Host City

SEOUL, Nov. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – Major South Korean corporations, including Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Hyundai Motor, Lotte and SK Group, are making a concerted effort to bolster Busan’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo.

In Paris, Samsung Electronics strategically placed supportive messages for the expo bid on billboards across key locations such as Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, major shopping districts, and popular tourist attractions.

Additionally, Samsung prominently featured a massive advertising post at the Opera Garnier, showcasing both its cutting-edge foldable smartphone model, the Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Busan’s bid for the expo.

Leading up to the 173rd session of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), where the host city for the 2030 World Expo will be determined, Hyundai Motor Group contributed by deploying 10 Ioniq 6 and EV6 art cars in support of Busan’s bid.

LG Electronics is also actively backing the Busan Expo bid by operating a wrapped bus in Paris.

Support from major Korean companies for the Busan Expo bid has continued. Lotte C&T sent a cheering message to the media façade of Lotte World Tower to support the last-minute bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.

The decision on the host city for the 2030 World Expo will be made through a vote at the general assembly of the Bureau International des Expositions in Paris, scheduled for Tuesday. Busan faces stiff competition from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Rome, Italy, for this prestigious honor.
