SEOUL, Nov. 14 (Korea Bizwire) – South Koreans’ satisfaction with their consumer life rose compared to two years ago on the back of improvements in key sectors such as food and clothing, a poll showed Tuesday.
The index gauging consumer satisfaction rose 12.8 points from 63.8 in 2015 to 76.6 this year, according to the survey by the Korea Consumer Agency (KCA). The poll was conducted on 5,000 South Koreans aged 20 or older nationwide from July 26 to Aug. 22, with a margin of error of plus or minus 1.39 percentage points.
The consumer watchdog announces its measurements and analysis of consumer experience once every two years.
The index measuring satisfaction with groceries and food services was relatively high at 78 points, while that for clothing was 77 points, the survey showed.
Meanwhile, 43.4 percent of respondents said they experienced troubles in their consumer life.
Issues related to price were the most common with 29.2 percent, followed by difficulties over returns or exchanges with 13.4 percent and concerns over safety with 12.6 percent, the KCA said.
