South Korea’s Camino de Santiago Coming to S. Jeolla Province

SINAN, Sept. 3 (Korea Bizwire)The small Kijeom Soak Island, located 40 minutes away from Aphae Island in Sinan County, South Jeolla Province, is being transformed into an island of pilgrimage.

Kijeom Soak Island is a small island with 100 residents, most of whom are seniors working as farmers or fishermen.

A total of 11 sculptors and artists from South Korea and abroad participated in the island’s project to build 12 miniature-sized chapels.

Visitors will be able to find all twelve chapels built along the pilgrim route by early October.
