SINAN, Sept. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — The small Kijeom Soak Island, located 40 minutes away from Aphae Island in Sinan County, South Jeolla Province, is being transformed into an island of pilgrimage.
Kijeom Soak Island is a small island with 100 residents, most of whom are seniors working as farmers or fishermen.
A total of 11 sculptors and artists from South Korea and abroad participated in the island’s project to build 12 miniature-sized chapels.
Visitors will be able to find all twelve chapels built along the pilgrim route by early October.
