CHEONGDO, Feb. 12 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s longest luge course has opened in the southeastern country of Cheongdo.
Goon Park offers rides on luge carts on a track instead of riding a sled on the ice.
With a width of 6 meters and a length of 1.88 kilometers, the luge track starts from an altitude of 600 meters above sea level.
Featuring a combination of curves and steep slopes, the track enables users to ride a luge for about five minutes. The luge track is open both during the day and night.
The track design and system operation are based on home-grown technologies with certified safety.
After going viral even before its opening, the luge track attracted as many as 4,000 visitors on Wednesday, its official opening day, and was busy with visitors from the morning of the second day.
