SEOUL, Aug. 23 (Korea Bizwire) – The 2024 O-NE Super Race Championship, South Korea’s largest motorsport festival, is gearing up for its sixth round on August 24 at the Inje Speedium in Gangwon Province.

Sponsored by CJ Logistics, the Inje Night Race will feature seven classes of competition, headlined by the Super 6000 class.

Other categories include GT, GT4, Prius PHEV, Alpine, Radical Cup Korea, and Korea Trofeo (motorcycle race), offering a diverse range of motorsport action for fans.

The Super Race organizers have scheduled all events between June and August in the evening to avoid the summer heat, with this sixth round being the last nighttime spectacle of the year.

All eyes are on the Super 6000 class, where team Seo-Han GP’s dominance has been the talk of the circuit. The team has clinched victory in all five rounds so far, setting a team record for most consecutive wins.

Jeong Ui-chul kick-started the winning streak in the season opener, followed by Jang Hyun-jin’s impressive three consecutive victories in rounds two to four. Kim Jung-goon joined the winners’ circle in the fifth round, completing the team’s perfect record.

Seo-Han GP’s drivers are also dominating the individual rankings. Jang Hyun-jin leads with 101 points, followed by teammates Jung Eui-chul (77 points) and Kim Joong-kun (75 points) in second and third places respectively.

Jang is aiming for his fourth win of the season, while Jung and Kim are eyeing their second victories.

Park Jong-im, Seo-Han GP’s manager, expressed confidence in his team’s chances, noting that the handicap weights for Jung (30kg) and Kim (50kg) are not overly burdensome, leaving them well-positioned to challenge for the podium’s top spot.

Challenging Seo-Han GP’s supremacy are Choi Kwang-bin (One Racing), who recorded the fastest time in last month’s official test, and Kim Dong-eun (O-NE Racing), known for his strong performances in night races.

In an intriguing development, the Korea Trofeo motorcycle race will see the professional debut of television personality Dex.

After participating in an event race during the fifth round at Everland Speedway last month, Dex is set to make his official debut as a professional rider with Team Ducati Korea.
