SEOUL, March 14 (Korea Bizwire) — The 2023 Squid Olympics was held on Sunday at the Hong Kong’s Southorn Stadium in the neighborhood of Wan Chai.

The event, inspired by the South Korea’s global sensation “Squid Game,” hosted a variety of Korean traditional games like “Red Light, Green Light,” “dalgona bbobggi” and “tug of war.”

Unlike the Netflix series in which the games involved the survival of the contestants, some 100 participants divided into 20 teams were able to enjoy all of the games over the course of three hours.

The event was hosted by the Korean Cultural Center in Hong Kong and the Korea Sport Association in Hong Kong.

More than 300 people had signed up for the program just a few hours after registration opened.
