SEOUL, June 30 (Korea Bizwire) — The National Geographic Information Institute announced that it had developed 3D digital models of 19 million buildings across the country.
The models will be available from Wednesday.
The models are based on a database of buildings that assessed using aerial photographs to observe their height on the basis of 2D building diagrams. With this information, the buildings can be visualized in a 3D manner.
The models developed by the institute are relatively basic among 3D models, with buildings visualized as blocks.
With these 3D building models, a variety of simulation experiments are available virtually for national land.
The models can be used for various purposes including aviation control, flooding prediction and landscape analysis.
