SEOUL, March 25 (Korea Bizwire)The Korea Railroad Corp. (KORAIL), a state-run railway operator, said Thursday it will share important information on subway train operations with KakaoMetro subway navigation app starting from Thursday.

In case subway train operations are suspended due to accidents or natural disasters, KORAIL will provide emergency notice on the affected areas and reasons via KakaoMetro.

At present, the app has about 3 million users.

The two parties plan to develop a separate system to enable the verification of emergency situations concerning train operations even through Kakao Map mapping application.

Moreover, when accidents occur that could result in delays or the suspension of train operations, KORAIL will instantly make a remote announcement for all trains and stations, while displaying the information using train destination indicators.

KORAIL currently provides subway train operation-related emergency information to app developers and municipal governments.
