SEOUL, June 15 (Korea Bizwire) – Kangin, a member of K-pop boy band Super Junior, appeared before prosecutors on Wednesday for questioning on charges of causing a traffic accident while under the influence of alcohol late last month.

The 31-year-old, who already has a record of drunk driving from several years ago, is suspected of running away after crashing into a street lamp in southern Seoul while driving intoxicated.

He declined to answer any of the questions asked by reporters before entering the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office.

Kangin earlier admitted to driving while under the influence during the police investigation.

The K-pop singer has only recently started appearing on TV shows again after years off from activities as a sign of taking time for self-restraint after a drunk-driving incident in October 2009.

Following Kangin’s second accident in May, his agency S.M. Entertainment released a statement and said he will be suspended from all activities as a singer and entertainer.
