SEOUL, Sept. 2 (Korea Bizwire) – Seokchon Lake Park was where Florentijn Hofman’s giant Rubber Duck made its landing for a 10-day stay 2014, but something else landed Thursday, attracting hundreds of visitors that sought a glimpse of something out of the ordinary – a colossal Supermoon.

Signaling the coming of Chuseok, the Korean Thanksgiving holiday, and designed by Californian art collaborative FriendsWithYou, the 20-diameter floating balloon is part of the Super Moon Project hosted by Lottle World Tower and the Songpa District Office.

The Supermoon will be displayed at the lake every day from one hour before sunset to 10 p.m. for a month-long display, and will be lit using eight different colors, said FWY.

“The moon is the celestial object that is closest to Earth, and has maintained a close and most essential relationship with mankind,” said Samuel Borkson, who formed FWY with Arturo Sandoval III. “By presenting an object that has long been humankind’s subject for prayers of hope and dreams, we wanted to convey a message that anyone can achieve their dreams.”
