SEOUL, Feb. 19 (Korea Bizwire) – A recent survey conducted by data consulting firm PMI has found that six out of 10 unmarried Korean individuals in their 20s and 30s have no experience in dating, identifying them as lifelong singles. The survey polled 1,174 unmarried men and women aged between 20 and 59 across the country on their dating experiences and preferences.

The findings revealed that a significant 75.8% of respondents are not currently in a relationship, a figure that is more than triple the 24.2% who reported being in one. When asked about their dating history, the largest group, 36.9%, reported having dated once or twice. This was followed by 19% who have been in three to four relationships, and 18.5% who have dated five times or more.

However, 25.5% of participants indicated they have never been in a relationship, with the rate among those in their 20s and 30s reaching 57.3%. The survey also explored the reasons behind the choice not to date, with ‘financial reasons’ being the most cited at 17.2%. Other reasons included ‘no particular reason or unsure’ (15.8%) and ‘lack of a suitable partner’ (10%).

When selecting a romantic partner, respondents prioritized ‘personality’ (33.5%) above all, followed by ‘first impressions/physical appearance’ (25.4%), and ‘values’ (13.6%).
