SEOUL, Mar. 19 (Korea Bizwire) –Switzerland has topped the list as the most satisfying overseas travel destination for South Korean tourists, according to a recent survey commissioned by the Switzerland Tourism board.

In the poll conducted by leading research firm Consumer Insight, Switzerland ranked first among 27 nations in overall travel satisfaction scores given by Korean travelers in 2023.

The pristine natural environment and clean cities of Switzerland appear to have strongly appealed to tourists becoming more health-conscious in the post-pandemic era, Switzerland Tourism assessed.

When looking specifically at travel to Switzerland, 49% of Korean visitors utilized package tours, higher than the 44% package usage rate for Europe as a whole. This suggests Korean tourists have an elevated preference for the convenience of packaged Switzerland travel products.

To promote the Alpine nation, Switzerland Tourism hosted its annual Swiss travel fair on March 19 at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul. The morning exhibition for industry professionals was followed by one-on-one meetings between Korean travel agencies and the 18 Swiss partners in attendance.

This year’s edition saw a record turnout of around 200 travel company representatives from South Korea, the largest since the fair’s inception, underscoring keen interest in Switzerland as a destination.

Participating on the Swiss side were the Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau, regional tourism boards, as well as rail, hotel, and other tourism service partners from across the country.
