TAEBAEK, July 20 (Korea Bizwire) — The Taebaek Sunflower Festival is set to take place in the city of Taebaek, Gangwon Province, from Friday to August 15, the festival organizer said.
Guwau Village in the city has annually hosted the festival in the nation’s largest sunflower patch spanning 100,000 square meters.
During the summer season, Samsuryeong Pass, known for its water splitting three ways towards the East, West, and South Seas, turns vibrant yellow when approximately 1 million sunflowers bloom on the hill.
Visitors can see 300 species of wildflowers, along with a field of sunflowers, during the festival period.
The program includes planting flowers, making fermented sunflower broth and feeding animals, as well as various exhibitions and concerts.
