SEOUL, Apr. 19 (Korea Bizwire)Taihan Electric Wire Co., a South Korean electric wire manufacturer, announced on Thursday that it will launch an “RF Light Line” that secures escape routes for firefighters and provides a stable communication environment.

Taihan’s Light Line is a type of light-emitting cable that is mandatory fire-fighting equipment and can help firefighters escape when a fire breaks out underground by indicating an escape route.

The newly developed product combines telecommunications cables with the light line to allow firefighters deployed to the scene of a fire to communicate smoothly with the command on the ground.

The product can create a safe working environment in areas where communication is difficult, such as tunnels and caves, as well as at night construction sites, in addition to firefighting sites.

Based on the ideas and technical advice of Fire Lt. Kim Jin-wook at Daegu Dalseong Fire Station, the product was developed from February last year and verified through on-site testing on March 15.

The RF Light Line will be on display at the International Fire & Safety Expo Korea, which will be held at Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center in Daegu for three days from April 24.
