Tang Wei Wins CICI Award for Improving Korea’s Image to the World


The non-profit organization has picked two winners a year, one awarded to a foreigner and the other to a man or woman younger than 20 years of age, since 2005.(image:W Korea)

SEOUL, Dec. 24 (Korea Bizwire) — Tang Wei, Chinese female actor, was selected this year by the Corea Image Communication Institute as the one who contributed to improving Korea’s image in the world. The non-profit organization has picked two winners a year, one awarded to a foreigner and the other to a man or woman younger than 20 years of age, since 2005.

A CICI official said, “Since the 2010 movie ‘Late Autumn’ Ms. Tang has been instrumental in promoting Korean movies and Korean culture in general by taking the job of a hostess for the Busan International Film Festival and an honorary ambassador for the 20th year anniversary for the China-Korea diplomatic relations.”

The award ceremony will be held on January 12 next year at the InterContinental Seoul Coex, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Korean Culture and Information Service.
