SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Korea Bizwire) – As the new year begins, Korea’s leading telecommunications companies are igniting competition by releasing a series of children-focused smartphones.
On January 9, LG Uplus announced the launch of the Chunsik-i 2 phone, a child-friendly LTE smartphone designed for eye comfort. This 7th U+ Kids Phone model is based on the Samsung Galaxy A24 and features themes of popular Kakao characters Ryan and Chunsik-i.
The phone comes with blue light filtering to reduce eye fatigue and boasts a 6.5-inch FHD large screen display. It also includes a triple camera with up to 50 million pixels, optical image stabilization (OIS), 128GB of internal memory, 4GB of RAM, and a 5,000mAh large-capacity battery.
LG Uplus has significantly improved its exclusive parental control app, KiwiPlay+, offering real-time child location tracking and features to prevent smartphone overuse and exposure to harmful content.
The retail price of the Chunsik-i 2 phone is set at 396,000 won, and it will be available for sale starting January 10 on the official online mall, Uplus.com.
On January 4, SK Telecom introduced the ZEM Phone Pokémon Edition 2 for children, while KT unveiled its Cinnamoroll Kids Phone. This flurry of releases marks a heated race in the kids’ smartphone segment among the top telecom companies in Korea.
