SEOUL, March 25 (Korea Bizwire) — A growing number of people are going to exhibitions and cultural events as the spring arrives with quarantine policies being lifted.
Online shopping mall 11Street reported that ticket sales for exhibitions this year have doubled since last year.
E-commerce operator TMON Inc. also reported a 22-fold jump in ticket sales for cultural events between March 1 and 21 compared to the same period last year.
Ticket sales for musicals/theatre, exhibitions, and family concerts have all soared.
In response, 11Street plans to sell tickets for more variety of exhibitions next month, including exclusive offers for evening admission to Gyeongbok Palace as well as a 50 percent discount for Saturday and Sunday reservations for the Tim Burton exhibition.
Tickets for the “Light: Works from the Tate Collection” and “Louis Vuitton Trunks” exhibitions will be sold through live broadcast.
TMON is also offering a 15-percent discount coupon for customers who spend more than 10,000 won (US$8.20) on concert tickets until March 31.
