Tickets for Night Tour to Gyeongbok Palace Sold Out in an Hour

SEOUL, July 25 (Korea Bizwire)Night tour to Gyeongbok Palace which offers splendid night view of the major Joseon Dynasty palace enjoys huge popularity among local Koreans. Reflecting its popularity, all the tickets allocated for Internet reservations were sold out in an hour.

According to Auction which managed the Internet ticketing of the night tour for the palace, a total of 16,680 tickets for the admission of the night tour were sold out soon after it released them on July 23.

The Cultural Heritage Administration decided to open the palace at night for 12 days during the summer July 30 to August 11(closed on August 5) for the visitors from 7 pm to 10 pm. The event was prepared to offer gentle atmosphere of the palace during the nights.

However, to protect the cultural heritage, the number of nighttime visitors is limited to a daily maximum of 1,500 people. Among the total 1,500 tickets, 1,390 tickets were allocated for online reservations and 110 for on-site sales for those aged over 65 and foreigners by phone at 1566-1369. Admission is free for children aged 6 or younger when accompanied by an adult.

Currently, only tickets allocated for the aged and foreigners are available and can be purchased at the ticket booths of the palace only if there are unsold tickets.
