PYONGYANG/SEOUL, April 2 (Joint Press Corps-Yonhap) – The schedule  for another concert by a South Korean art troupe visiting Pyongyang has been fixed, Seoul officials said Monday.

A 160-member South Korean art troupe, including 11 celebrated Korean pop musicians, plans to perform jointly with North Korean artists on Tuesday afternoon following a successful concert on Sunday.

“It has been confirmed that the joint performance will begin at 4 p.m. (Pyongyang time),” a culture ministry official told reporters ahead of the group’s debut in Pyongyang on Sunday. “Pyongyang time” is half an hour later than South Korea and Japan.

The official said there is not going to be any change to the schedule because the 12,000 seats at the performance venue, Ryugyong Jong Ju Yong Gymnasium, have all been reserved.

“The North Korean side reduced its performing time and offered inclusion of as many South Korean songs as possible,” said the official. “The two sides agreed to show ‘something that will have the hearts of all Koreans beat,’ as Hyon Song-wol, head of the North’s Samjiyon Orchestra, put it.”

After the last performance, the South Korean artists are scheduled to leave for Incheon International Airport along with a taekwondo demonstration team.
