SEOUL, April 7 (Korea Bizwire) — The ever-increasing popularity of Korean dramas has turned the coast city of Gangneung, Gangwon Province into a tourist hotspot.
The Jumunjin district in Gangneung, the filming location of the 2016 drama “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,” also known as “Goblin,” has once again gained popularity as the backdrop for the climactic scene in the final episode of Netflix’s original series “The Glory” Part 2, attracting tourists looking for Instagram-worthy filming locations.
The northern bus stop of Jumunjin Beach, which was also featured in BTS’ 2018 “Wings: You Never Walk Alone” album photo, is still a popular spot.
Despite its secluded location, many BTS fans and tourists visit the 3.8-meter-wide and 2.6-meter-high bus stop recreated by the city.
Bangjae in Jumunjin, where “Goblin” was filmed, is known for the romantic scene where Gong Yoo covered Kim Go-eun with an umbrella while offering her buckwheat flowers, creating a melancholic atmosphere.
The city of Gangneung has made it more convenient for tourists by providing parking lots in the area, and several cafes with sea views are opening up, enhancing the city’s reputation as a popular tourist destination.
