SEOUL, July 25 (Korea Bizwire) – “Train to Busan,” one of the nation’s most attention-getting films this summer, has set a new one-day attendance record of all movies ever screened in the country, data showed Sunday. 

The apocalyptic zombie thriller drew an audience of 1,280,944 on Saturday alone, according to the computerized box-office figures from the Korean Film Council. 

The previous record was 1,257,380 set by the 2014 Korean film “Roaring Currents.” 

Released on July 20, “Train to Busan” was seen by a total of 4,120,229 viewers through Saturday, according to data. The number includes some 558,000 viewers who checked out the film between July 15-17 at pre-screenings.
