Traveler’s Guide Sales Rise as Quarantine Restrictions Lifted

SEOUL, March 28 (Korea Bizwire)With quarantine restrictions being lifted for incoming vaccinated travelers to South Korea, more people are gaining interest in books about foreign travel.

Kyobo Bookstore reported a 28.5 percent sales increase for books about traveling overseas between February 25 and March 24.

The government lifted quarantine restrictions on incoming travelers on March 11.

A majority of customers bought books about traveling to Hawaii. “The Real Hawaii” traveler’s guide topped the category sales charts over the last seven days. “Hawaii Self-Travel” made it to fourth place in the sales rankings.

Travel logs written by famous writers, including “The Santiago Pilgrimage: Walking the Immortal Way” by Jean-Christophe Rufin and “If Our Language Were Whiskey” by Haruki Murakami, have also gained popularity.
