SEOUL, Aug. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — An environmental organization in Turkey sent a Korean letter of appreciation to fans of South Korean volleyball star Kim Yeon-koung for their sapling donations amidst one of Turkey’s worst wildfires.
Turkish Environmental Organizations Solidarity Association (CEKUD), a non-profit organization in Turkey, posted a letter of appreciation written both in Korean and English on its website to thank Kim’s fans.
“Dear friends in Korea, forests, a major source of life, have been burning for a week in Turkey and several other spots in the world,” the letter said.
“You have shown your support by standing with us and generously donating thousands of seedlings.”
“We heartily express our gratitude for your contribution. We intend to protect and nurture the seedlings you have entrusted us with, like our longstanding friendship,” the letter added.
Kim also thanked fans on Aug. 6 for leading the donation program with wildfires burning out of control in Turkey.
