Turtleneck Sweaters in Vogue Again With Korea’s New Found Love of Retro

SEOUL, Feb. 2 (Korea Bizwire) – Turtleneck sweaters are ‘in’ again these days. They were once à la mode in Korea during the early years of the new millennium, and are now gaining increased popularity in fashion circles.

According to fashion industry experts, several male celebrities such as Lee Jong-Suk, Lee Min-Ho and Kim Young-kwang have been spotted wearing turtleneck sweaters at various events. Stars known to be ‘fashionistas’ are choosing turtlenecks over conventional shirts and jackets these days.

HERITORY, a casual brand by Sejung Corporation, said that turtleneck sweaters have returned to a Korean fashion scene that has been embracing retro style since MBC Infinite Challenge’s special episode “Saturday, Saturday is for Singers (TOTOGA)” fueled Korea’s retro fever. The TOTOGA episode is currently TV viewers’ favorite, and features singers that were famous in 90s.

HERITORY also said the trend should continue for the foreseeable future, since turtleneck sweaters and tops can go along with both casual and business attire.
