SEOUL, July 18 (Korea Bizwire) South Korean streaming platform Tving announced Wednesday that it will launch a new interactive viewing service called “Watch Together” on July 19, allowing users to watch content simultaneously while engaging in real-time chat with special hosts and fellow viewers.

The new feature aims to tap into the growing demand for shared viewing experiences in the digital space. The service offers two main formats: “Watch Together with Content” and “Sports Fandom Broadcasts.”

In the former, audiences join popular hosts to watch and discuss Tving Originals, tvN series, and exclusive releases — either in real-time or through curated highlight reels. The latter brings fans into KBO League baseball games, where celebrity hosts cheer and commentate live.

The Sports Fandom Broadcasts will debut over the July 19–20 weekend with matchups including Lotte vs. LG, Kiwoom vs. Samsung, and Hanwha vs. KT. The hosts for these events will be revealed on July 18 through Tving’s official channels.

Meanwhile, the Watch Together with Content feature will launch on July 23 with the first two episodes of The Great Escape: The Story, a Tving Original reality show.

Weekly episodes will feature guest appearances from prominent figures such as science communicator Orbit, entertainer RalRal, TV personalities Hong Jin-ho and Kang Ji-young, singer John Park, and creator Kwak Jun-bin.

“With rising demand for communal viewing over solitary watching, we aim to redefine the streaming experience,” a Tving spokesperson said. “Watch Together is not just about viewing — it’s about connecting, immersing, and evolving how we engage with content.”
