SEOUL, Jun. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — K-pop girl band TWICE will embark on a two-month arena tour in Japan starting in September, its agency said Monday.
According to JYP Entertainment, the nine-member act will play in Chiba on Sept. 29 and 30, Aichi on Oct. 2 and 3, Kobe on Oct. 12-14 and Tokyo on Oct. 16 and 17.
The band plans to release its first full-length album in the country alongside the tour.
Since its Japan debut in June last year, the girl band has gained huge popularity, reigniting K-pop fever among Japanese pop fans.
Its third Japanese single, “Wake Me Up,” released May 16, sold more than 500,000 copies, topping the Oricon and Billboard Japan weekly singles charts.
Three of the band’s releases — “#TWICE,” its debut album in Japan, “One More Time” and “Candy Pop” — all won platinum status from the Japanese record industry for selling more than 250,000 copies.
