Two-thirds of Salaried Workers Interested in Stock Investment

SEOUL, March 29 (Korea Bizwire)With a growing number of private investors, demand for books related to investment is also on the rise.

Major online shopping mall Gmarket reported a 71 percent jump in sales of books related to stock investment between March 1 and 25, compared to the same period last year.

A book introducing stock investment for beginners was among the top bestsellers at Kyobo Bookstore, Bandi & Lunis, and Youngpoong Bookstore for the fourth week of March.

Embrain Trend Monitor, a market research firm, conducted a survey of 1,000 salaried wmployees last month, 55.1 percent of whom believed that studying about investing would help them to boost their net worth.

At 46 percent, almost half of the respondents said they had read books about stock investment in the last 12 months.

Another 67.8 percent said they were interested in stock investment, 52.7 percent of whom took interest in investment after January of last year, when the coronavirus outbreak began to spread.
