SEOUL, July 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Online car sales and sales of eco-friendly cars have been bright spots in the used car market this year.
K Car, a major secondhand car seller, picked three keywords to describe used car sales between January and June: e-commerce, seniors, and green.
The company reported that online car sales reached 43.1 percent of total sales, up 8.5 percentage points on year.
Among consumers who bought used cars via the company’s home service program, 20.6 percent were seniors, a gain of 3.9 percentage points compared to last year.
Eco-friendly car sales via home service rose by 140 percent on year, while their share of total sales was 3.7 percent, up 0.6 percentage points.
K Car reported a 29 percent increase in online searches for eco-friendly cars via the company’s smartphone application compared to last year.
