Vacationers Flock to Beaches and Mountains to Escape Summer Heat

SEOUL, July 31 (Korea Bizwire)With the summer heat reaching 35 degrees Celsius on Sunday, leading to a nationwide heat wave warning, the country’s popular beaches and festivals teemed with vacationers.

Busan’s Haeundae Beach welcomed 270,000 visitors while Gwangalli Beach received 140,000 people on the previous day.

The city’s seven public beaches, in total, drew 578,000 visitors.

Beaches on Gangwon Province’s east coast saw over 495,000 visitors on the same day.

Vacationers also sought refuge from the summer heat in mountains and national parks.

Mount Songni National Park had already received 5,200 visitors while Mount Worak National Park welcomed 4,200 people as of 1 p.m. Sunday.
