SEOUL, July 4 (Korea Bizwire)The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs and the Federation of Korean Industries have partnered to initiate a new project aimed at distributing shoes to the 1950-1953 Korean War veterans who have been struggling with foot injuries.

Recently, the two organizations signed an agreement regarding the respectful treatment and welfare of individuals who have rendered national service.

As part of this project, the two institutions will collaborate with Hanwha Aerospace Co. to produce shoes for 300 veterans, as a tribute to their service during the Korean War.

These shoes, known as the One & Only Heroes Shoes, are meticulously designed using 3D scanners to perfectly fit the veterans’ feet, which may have become deformed or misaligned over time.

Delivery of the shoes is scheduled for around July 27, which coincides with the 70th anniversary of the armistice.

Since the Korean War concluded with an armistice rather than a peace treaty, the two Koreas technically remain in a state of war.
