As such, there has been criticism that South Korean veterans of the Korean War who received a medal from U.N. forces couldn’t be buried at Seoul National Cemetery and Daejeon National Cemetery.

With the upcoming amendment, the government also plans to determine the exact number of South Korean veterans who received a medal from foreign countries that fought in the Korean War as part of the U.N. forces.
