SEOUL, Nov. 29 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean coach Park Hang-seo’s fervor for his Vietnamese men’s national football team is moving the hearts of many fans in Vietnam.
Park is leading his team at the 30th Southeast Asian Games currently underway in the Philippines.
One Vietnamese media outlet reported that Park and his staff skipped meals to monitor the games played by other teams for more than 7 hours to gain insight into his opponents’ strategy.
Park and his staff watched the match between Vietnam’s largest rival Thailand and Indonesia, followed by another match between Laos and Singapore.
“All of this could not have been possible without coach Park,” said one Vietnamese netizen. “Thank you for coming to Vietnam,” said another.
Last Sunday, Park was caught on camera picking up rocks scattered on the training grounds at the Philippine’s Biñan Football Stadium.
“Coach Park was looking after the safety of our players,” said Vietnam Net, a Vietnamese online media portal. “This Korean national always takes care of our players.”
Vietnam’s national football team will play against Indonesia on December 1, Singapore on December 3, and Thailand on December 5.
