SEOUL, Nov. 27 (Korea Bizwire) – Swedish automaker Volvo’s flagship “90 Cluster” series—comprising the XC90, S90, and V90 Cross Country—continues to enjoy steady popularity in South Korea, driven by its reputation for advanced safety features and innovative technology.
According to Volvo Cars Korea, the 90 Cluster accounted for 26% of the 12,284 Volvo vehicles sold in South Korea between January and October 2023, with 3,167 units sold.
Safety and Design Excellence
The XC90 SUV, a standout model in the series, incorporates Volvo’s pioneering safety innovations, including Rollover Stability Control (RSC), Intersection Collision Avoidance with emergency braking, and Road Departure Mitigation. These features underline Volvo’s ethos of putting safety first.
The S90 sedan, featuring the longest wheelbase in its class at 3,060 mm, provides exceptional interior space, while the V90 Cross Country, blending the strengths of a sedan and an SUV, offers a smooth ride and ample cargo capacity, staying true to Volvo’s legacy as a leader in wagon design.
Cutting-Edge Technology
All 90 Cluster models are equipped with IntelliSafe, Volvo’s intelligent safety system, which includes Pilot Assist II for semi-autonomous driving up to 140 km/h and City Safety for pedestrian detection and emergency braking.
The series also boasts an advanced infotainment system, developed in collaboration with Tmap Mobility through a ₩30 billion ($22 million) investment. This system enhances driver convenience with real-time navigation and connectivity. Additionally, Volvo provides a five-year complimentary Digital Services Package and 15 years of free over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
Enhanced Customer Service
Volvo Cars Korea operates 39 service centers nationwide, addressing after-sales service—a common pain point for imported car buyers. To further enhance customer satisfaction, buyers of 90 Cluster models delivered by the end of 2023 can extend the standard warranty from five years or 100,000 kilometers to seven years or 140,000 kilometers.
Special Edition Launch
Marking its leadership in the imported SUV market, Volvo has unveiled a limited-edition “XC60 Winter Edition.” Only 60 units will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis starting December 3.
The XC60, a family SUV icon, has surpassed two million units in global sales and earned the highest safety ratings in crash tests conducted by the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), solidifying its reputation as a “safe family SUV.”
With its blend of safety, innovation, and customer care, Volvo’s 90 Cluster and SUV offerings continue to set benchmarks in South Korea’s premium automotive market.
