SEOUL, Dec.18 (Korea Bizwire) – Dongbu Daewoo Electronics has announced that ‘Mini’, its drum washing machine that can be installed on a wall, was selected as a ‘next generation world-class product’ at the 2015 World-Class Goods Certification.
‘Mini’ is the first drum washing machine that can be installed on a wall. It is 29.2 centimeters deep and weighs only 3 kilograms, and is the smallest washing machine in the world.
The washing machine can be installed wherever the user wants, in the bathroom, utility room or kitchen. Users can even take out laundry without having to bend over.
Compared to large drum washing machines, washing time can be reduced to 60 percent, water reduced to 80 percent, and electricity usage can be cut to 86 percent.
Since its launch in 2012, the product has shown a growth rate of more than 30 percent, and the accumulated number of sales exceeded 100,000.
The ‘World-Class Goods Certification’ is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and administered by KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency). The ‘next generation world-class product’ is selected after marketability, growth potential and global competitiveness are evaluated. The selected products are thought to be capable of having a top five share in the global market.
