SEOUL, June 1 (Korea Bizwire)The War Memorial of Korea, located just across the street from the new presidential office in Seoul’s Yongsan Ward, is garnering attention once again.

According to the museum’s statistics, the number of visitors stood at 81,989 during the period from May 1 to 27, up 119 percent from the 37,292 during the month of May 2021.

This figure is far higher than the 38,414 and 60,982 recorded in March and April, respectively, when the recovery of normal life began in earnest.

In particular, on the first (May 14-15) and second (May 21-22) weekend after the presidential office was relocated, the number of visitors reached 13,300 and 16,043, respectively.

Considering that the number of visitors stood at a mere 7,204 on the previous weekend (May 7-8), the War Memorial of Korea, a museum commemorating the 1950-53 Korean War, is taking advantage of the relocation of the presidential office.

Even on social media, many comments have been made about new visits to the War Memorial of Korea after a long time.

“I recently visited the War Memorial of Korea for the first time since I was an elementary school student. It was better than I thought.” said a 28-year-old office worker surnamed Yoon.
