SEOUL, Oct. 29 (Korea Bizwire)SK Telecom Co., along with SK Group affiliates are holding the SK ICT Tech Summit 2019, where the main agenda is to share ICT and services, at Walkerhill Hotel in Seoul for two days on Monday and Tuesday.

The summit is the fourth of its kind this year with a comprehensive ICT exhibition that has been in place since 2016 to create a synergy effect by converging ICT capabilities within the group and to create an ecosystem of technologies both inside and outside of South Korea.

Affiliates including SK hynix Inc., and SK C&C Co. along with SK Telecom will announce 71 topics within seven areas including artificial intelligence, big data, cloud, IoT, security, media and industrial technology, and display 98 technology items.

About 4,000 people, including executives and employees of the group, partners, startups and universities, will be invited to participate.

SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and other CEOs of major related companies attended the opening ceremony, reflecting the group’s high interest.

“The new ICT is evolving so fast that it is hard to predict and it is virtually impossible to have a competitive edge independently in such an environment,” Chey said in his opening remarks.

The SK ICT Tech Summit 2019 has greatly increased the scope of introduction of SK Telecom’s participating companies and outside companies compared to previous years.

SK Energy, SK E&S Co. and SK Engineering & Construction Co. will participate to announce and display cases of introducing ICT into their respective businesses in order to seek comprehensive ICT cooperation among group affiliates.

“There is a need to create an ecosystem that creates opportunities for cooperation and growth by turning the SK ICT Tech Summit into an infrastructure shared by SK and its outside partners,” Chey stressed.
