WeWork to Open Office in Busan Early Next Year

SEOUL, Oct. 18 (Korea Bizwire)WeWork, a leading provider of shared workspaces, plans to open a new office in Busan, South Korea early next year.

Matthew Shampine, director of WeWork Asia-Pacific, met with Busan Mayor Oh Keo-don on Tuesday to discuss the opening of the company’s Busan office and the creation of jobs for Busan citizens.

WeWork, a hub that connects startups with more than 250,000 members worldwide, not only provides workspaces, but also offers networking opportunities, education, and mentoring programs to startup companies via WeWork Labs.

Currently, WeWork has more than 300 offices in 23 countries. In South Korea, WeWork has 10 offices in Seoul.

Oh expressed high hopes as he said that WeWork could “stimulate the sharing economy and create new jobs in Busan.”
