SEOUL, Korea, Oct 21 (Korea Bizwire) – The turnover rate for office workers is quickly on the rise. According to data published by the Korea Employers Federation last year, the percentage of newly hired workers with college degrees to quit within one year of employment has shot up to 23.6 percent from 15.7 percent in 2011. At a time when getting a job with well-paying companies is as hard as for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, this is unusual that the lucky few decide to leave as soon as they join.

A survey by a job portal revealed that as many as 70 percent of office workers are preparing to jump ship without telling anyone within the company. That’s probably because there is no more lifetime job guarantee and promotion based on seniority enjoyed by their predecessors a generation ago and there is no reason left for them to put up with unsatisfactory jobs.

To address these changing needs of the job market, entrepreneurship consultancy Ginnobiz will offer a training program “Business Creation Professional Academy” for young office workers who left early in their career and those looking for jobs. At the academy, the company will give lectures on the relationship between commercial area and franchise stores, understanding business creation, how to improve your sales talk skills, and franchise incubating.

Ginnobiz president Sung Ki-Ho said, “We took notice of the trend of the quickly rising number of those opting out of the system and who are looking for business opportunities on their own. By offering the educational program, we wanted to provide them with systemic knowledge about how to open a new business and prosper in the market.”
