SEOUL, Dec. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — A collaborative carol featuring BTS member V and legendary American pop singer Bing Crosby (1903-1977) is set for release at 2 p.m. Friday, his agency said.
Described as an “era-bending” project by the agency, the reimagined version of the timeless holiday classic blends Crosby’s iconic voice with V’s vocals and a new instrumental arrangement, making it sound as if the two artists recorded the song together, according to BigHit Music.
Crosby’s vocals were extracted from “White Christmas,” recorded in the 1950s, it added.
The duet reflects V’s admiration for the late singer, displayed through his 2022 cover of Crosby’s “It’s Been a Long, Long Time,” according to the company.
A music video for the duet will also be unveiled later in the day.
“I was so happy and grateful to sing alongside the voice of my hero,” V said through the company. “Crosby is my favorite jazz artist, and I hope you enjoy the song, which I sang with deep admiration for him as a fan.”
Currently serving in the military, V is scheduled to complete his service and be discharged in June.
