WINNER’s “Empty” Tops in Music Charts for Two Weeks

SEOUL, Aug. 27 (Korea Bizwire)YG Entertainment rookie boy group WINNER has been enjoying the No. 1 places in Korean music charts for 15 consecutive days after its release on Aug. 12.

Besides, the five-member group also gains exceptional popularity by winning the first places in three music programs: Mnet’s “M Countdown,” KBS2’s “Music Bank” and SBS’s “Inkigayo” just in a week after its debut. Its music video released together with the track is emerging as a real sensation with 3.14 million views on Youtube as of Aug. 26.

The track “Empty” is a hip-hop song with rap expressing the overt emptiness after a separation from a lover. With its medium-tempo beat, not thumping beat, it gains favorable responses, as many fans comment it is showing WINNER’s own sentiment.

WINNER had already attracted people’s attention even before its debut with its members Kang Seung-yoon and Lee Seung-hoon, stars of audition programs of Super Star K 2 of Mnet and K-Pop Star 2 of SBS respectively. How about watching the music video to tell if the group can grow as a large-scale idol group or not?
