BUSAN, Nov. 1 (Korea Bizwire)A COVID-19 vaccination center in the southern port city of Busan closed down on Friday after six months of successful operations. The center has a “wishing tree” that contains numerous opinions and remarks posted by the vaccinated residents.

It is completely covered with about 3,000 posts all wishing for a return to normal life, including ones saying “Wishing to hit the road again,’ ‘Healthcare workers, go for it!” and “Waiting for no mask day!”.

The vaccinated residents wished for the day when COVID-19 is terminated and they can smile without wearing masks.

After getting vaccinated at the center on the day the center was closing, a foreigner said, “It looks like vaccination is bringing us far closer to the day when we can take off our masks and have a bright smile again.”

Ahead of its closure, the center held a disbanding ceremony on Friday to honor the dedication and service of its medical and administrative workers.

“Thanks to your painstaking efforts, the residents’ return to normal life is shortened. You can feel a great pride,” said Park Jae-beom, the head of Busan’s Nam District where the vaccination center is located.

The COVID-19 vaccination center that opened on April 1 had completed the first vaccination for 40,901 cases and the second vaccination for 37,338 cases as of Thursday.
