SEOUL, April 18, (Korea Bizwire) — Woori Bank has officially entered South Korea’s budget telecom market with the launch of its new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) service, WooriWON Mobile, which began operations on April 18, 2025.
To mark the launch, Woori Bank is offering promotional benefits worth up to 300,000 won for new customers who activate a line before the end of May.
The service, aimed at cost-conscious users, can be activated through the WooriWON Banking app or the official website (www.wooriwonmobile.com). Customers receive a SIM card by mail and install it in an unlocked device for immediate use.
WooriWON Mobile offers a total of 34 pricing plans, ranging from 5,000 to 30,000 won per month. Woori Bank’s primary customers and savings account holders are eligible for discounts of up to 3,300 won per month.
The bank also plans to introduce a high-yield installment savings product linked to the mobile service in May 2025, further integrating its banking and telecom offerings.
To boost uptake, Woori has launched a co-branded credit card with Woori Card, designed exclusively for WooriWON Mobile users. Cardholders can receive up to 25,000 won in monthly billing discounts when using the card to pay for their mobile plan, based on previous month’s spending.
A new television advertisement campaign featuring Woori Bank’s brand ambassador Jang Won-young is also set to debut in the coming weeks
