SEOUL, April 19 (Korea Bizwire) — Major South Korean lender Woori Bank has launched a drive to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) banker.
The bank said recently that it had signed a business agreement with LionRocket, a local tech startup specializing in deep learning-based image synthesis technologies, for development of the AI banker.
The AI banker is a virtual banker that will be created through a deep learning-based image-sound synthesis by reflecting the appearance, posture and voice of a specific person.
The AI will be designed to understand and analyze the speech of clients, thereby being able to perform the same role as actual bankers when consulting with clients.
Woori Bank will introduce the AI banker for its employee training program (AI professor) and in-bank broadcasting (AI announcer) from next month.
In addition, it will expand the scope of application for the AI banker towards smart kiosk video consultation services.
To this end, Woori Bank will select a model employee for the role of smart kiosk AI consultant. The model employee’s appearance and voice will be reflected in the AI consultant.
