SEOUL, Jan.25 (Korea Bizwire) – The Korean Trade Promotion Corporation (KOTRA) announced that it published a report on ‘99 Innovative Products of the World’, which introduces innovative products produced by various small and medium-sized companies all over the world.
One of the most noticeable products is ‘Strati’, a 3D-printed electric car, which will be manufactured starting next year.
Developed by Local Motors of the U.S., most of the parts of the car are made through 3D printing, which results in the completion of the total manufacturing process of the car in only 44 hours.
The car was introduced to the public through the movie ‘Transformers’, gaining popularity. The car will be sold by subscription from this year. Local Motors is expanding its business, signing a contract with the city of Ulsan to establish a 3D electronic car manufacturing plant.
An umbrella developed by a Japanese business doesn’t get wet. Featuring fabric that is three to five times more dense that other umbrellas, water drops just roll off the umbrella when it is shook.
The umbrella won first prize at the Tokyo Dome Gift Show last spring, as a ‘present that could catch a girl’s heart’.
The report will be viewable at the Global Window homepage (www.globalwindow.org), which is KOTRA’s information portal site.
