SEOUL, Oct. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — The World Taekwondo Headquarters, also known as Kukkiwon, is introducing a special uniform to be used in the 9th dan award ceremony.
The new uniform will be used for the first time at the second 9th dan award ceremony to be held this year at the Kukkiwon Main Stadium in southern Seoul on Oct. 20.
The uniforms, designed by world-renowned hanbok designer Mok Eun-jung, will be worn by the president and vice president of Kukkiwon and the 9th dan recipients.
The uniforms are emblazoned with a special pictogram designed after Korean traditional patterns, various taekwondo moves, the Taeguk emblem, and Kukkiwon’s CI.
The special uniforms will start off the headquarters’ efforts to introduce ceremonial uniforms, taekwondo outfits, and other rituals that they have been working on since 2009.
