Yeoju to Host 58th New York Festivals International Advertising Awards

SEOUL, March 24 (Korea Bizwire)The city of Yeoju will host the 2015 New York Festivals, which is one of the world’s most prestigious advertising awards.

City mayor Won Kyeong-hei and Michael O’Rourke, president of International Awards LLC which operates the festival, held an agreement ceremony at the Seoul Press Center on March 23.

Award submissions will be shown for three days at Sejong Traditional Music Hall, Yeoju Dojasesang, Yeoju Women Hall and other event facilities. The city is planning to welcome at least 13,000 professionals, educators and students working in the advertisement field. As Yeoju is filled with historical sites, one of them UNESCO designated, and ceramic arts ateliers & culture centers, the city government is also expecting a robust boost to its tourism industry.

New York Festivals, which is holding its 58th show this year, usually receives more than 50,000 submissions from 65 countries. The festival committee held its first show in the Asian region in 2010, as the festival was held in China and was at the center of attention for its unprecedented Asian coverage.
