SEOUL, Oct. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — Bookseller Yes24 is trialing an autonomous robot at its secondhand bookstore in Busan, the company said on Tuesday.
According to the company, the autonomous robot ‘Around’ will be adopted at its Busan store to collect books that have been read by customers.
‘Around’ is a collaboration between Yes 24 and Naver Labs that took a year to complete, with the goal of making a robot that is both helpful to staff members as well as convenient for customers to use.
In addition, an ‘Air Cart’ electric cart will also be introduced, which comes with anti-collision features to help staff move books from one place to another much more safely and easily.
Yes24 says it plans to roll out additional Around and Air Cart units later this year after the current trial and follow-up software and hardware updates are completed.
